Ashley Martin is a singer-songwriter from the heart of America. She was born in Dayton, Ohio into a family where music was a basic part of life. She quickly found her place in her family’s seventy-five-piece gospel choir, belting her first solo at just six years old. At age twelve she was competing in vocal competitions and started her solo singing career at retirement homes and assisted living facilities. At age nineteen she attended Belmont University in Nashville and studied music business. After eight years of honing her craft as an artist, retiring from a rock band and declining an offer in the pop world, Martin now tours the country with her four-piece band. She has created a unique style all her own – a mix of country, rock and pop. Her shows are sexy, high-energy musical experiences.
Martin continues to improve her singing and songwriting talents. This seasoned artist traveled thousands of miles to perform over 500 live performances in the last three years. The band has opened for the likes of Brett Eldridge, The Band Perry, Tracey Lawrence, Dustin Lynch, Frankie Ballard, Trick Pony and Zac Brown Band. Martin’s songs are getting better every year. She released her third CD Take 2 in October 2016. Her latest single “He’s Mine” has generated more excitement than any of her previous works. A live acoustic version of the song was recorded at the 2016 Key West Singer/Songwriter’s Festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7Q8AkLgLIk
In addition to her musical endeavors, Martin finds time to help many different organizations in need. Her primary charity “Ashley’s Angels” supports research on Spina Bifida. She has also organized and performed benefit concerts helping to fund The Battle Buddy Foundation, The Next Door Women’s Homeless Shelter, The Cancer Society and many more.
In 2015 Ashley founded 2 Worlds Music (2worldsmusic.com), an organization which helps other artists develop their musical talents, organize bands and find gigs. Currently the group works with twelve venues and eighteen different artists.
